Premium sound performance
The SL-G700 Super Audio CD Network Player is a versatile digital source crafted to extract exceptional audio from a wide range of formats — from traditional CD/SACD to high-resolution files and popular streaming services.

High-performance dual-mono D/A conversion
The D/A conversion stage is the heart of any player, where digital data is transformed back into the original analog waveform. For the SL-G700, Technics selected high-performance AK4497 DACs from Asahi Kasei Microdevices for the left and right channels, valued for their excellent signal-to-noise ratio and low distortion. Each converter receives its own dedicated power supply, split into five zones according to function, and the clock generator is powered from an isolated battery circuit to preserve timing accuracy. Using two independent mono circuits reduces channel interaction and elevates the realism and spatial precision of reproduced recordings.

External amplification module
The reconstruction filter that follows the DAC determines much of the character of the analog output. Rather than a standard op-amp IC, the SL-G700 employs a bespoke amplification module built from low-noise transistors and precision thin-film resistors to minimize circuit noise. Operating parameters such as bias currents are finely adjusted to improve transient response, increase signal-to-noise ratio and reduce distortion. The result is high linearity and faithful reproduction of even the smallest musical details.

Battery Clock Power Supply
Clock quality has a direct impact on digital audio processing. To keep the DAC clock free from mains-borne noise and fluctuations, Technics employs an isolated battery supply and an ultra-low-jitter oscillator. This approach minimizes supply noise and jitter, improving timing accuracy and producing a clearer, more transparent sound.
High speed quiet hybrid power supply
Stable, low-noise power is essential for faithful analog reproduction. The SL-G700 features a dedicated open-loop analog output supply engineered to suppress modulation and stabilize voltage under changing conditions. Together with a carefully tuned stabilized supply that avoids general-purpose ICs, this dedicated power path reduces noise and raises signal-to-noise performance, helping the unit achieve the clean, detailed sound Technics is known for.

Dynamic Load Characteristic Provides voltage stability even when the load fluctuates.
The USB input stage uses resistor-based voltage regulators made from non-magnetic carbon film to reduce magnetic interference, and high-quality Ruby Mica capacitors to provide low dielectric loss, high voltage endurance and thermal stability. Additional noise-mitigation measures include low-ESR film components on the LAN power line and pulse-transformer isolation on the digital output to preserve signal integrity.
High quality headphone output
Unlike many designs that share the line and headphone outputs, the SL-G700 provides a fully separate headphone path using Technics’ JENO Engine LSIs and dedicated digital amplifiers to minimize distortion and optimize noise shaping. Isolating the headphone and analog outputs prevents mutual interference and allows each output to be tuned for its specific role. The player also features an automatic performance optimization that activates the JENO amplifier when headphones are plugged in, avoiding any negative impact on the line outputs when headphones are not connected.
Furthermore, the Class AA headphone amplifier uses separate voltage and current stages — one stage for voltage gain and a second for current delivery. This topology enables precise conversion of the high-resolution PWM output from the JENO stage into a low-distortion analog signal suitable for a wide variety of headphone impedances and ensures consistent performance across the audible range.

Optimal circuit activation system
An intelligent activation scheme can shut down unused digital blocks (display, analog and digital interfaces) to reduce electrical noise during playback. When "Disc Only" mode is selected, network-related circuits are completely disabled to further enhance SACD/CD sound quality.High quality components
Only carefully selected, precision components are used in the signal paths that most affect sound quality, ensuring clear, natural and faithful reproduction.
Four-node layout
To minimize mutual interference between power-hungry switching sections, high-frequency digital interfaces and sensitive analog circuits, the SL-G700 separates its electronics into four isolated nodes. Baffles and dedicated compartments reduce crosstalk, improve mechanical rigidity and prevent vibration from degrading audio performance.Robust drive mechanism
Accurate disc reading is critical for sound quality. The drive mechanism uses a triple-frame construction to ensure precise tracking and to isolate vibration from the rest of the chassis. A rigid die-cast aluminum platter further absorbs vibration and reduces noise for reliable, faithful playback.Strong insulator
The insulator's interior is reinforced with ribs and a 4 mm steel plate to add mass and stiffness. This high-density design is engineered to suppress resonance and stabilize the SL-G700's sonic performance.
Support for different music sources and connection methods
The SL-G700 supports wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi and AirPlay 2, and can stream music from services such as Spotify, TIDAL and Internet radio. The unit also supports Google Assistant.*
