Top class, quality sound
The SL-G700 Super Audio CD Network Player is a versatile, precision-built digital player that faithfully reproduces audio from a wide range of sources — from CD/SACD to high-resolution files and modern streaming services — delivering clean, detailed sound with professional-grade clarity.

High quality premium D/A converter based on dual mono circuit
The digital-to-analog converter is the heart of the playback chain, where digital data is restored to its original analog waveform. For the SL-G700, high-performance AK4497 DACs from Asahi Kasei Microdevices are used for the left and right channels, offering excellent signal-to-noise and very low distortion. Each DAC has dedicated power rails, with the supply divided into five purpose-specific zones. The clock oscillator is powered from an isolated battery circuit to maximize conversion accuracy. Using separate, asymmetric mono circuits for each channel prevents mutual interference and raises the fidelity and spatial realism of the reproduced sound.

External amplification module
Rather than relying on a standard IC op amp, the SL-G700 employs a custom discrete amplification module immediately after the DAC. Carefully selected low-noise transistors and precision thin-film resistors minimize circuit noise. Operating points are finely adjusted to improve transient response, signal-to-noise ratio and distortion performance. The result is a highly linear, transparent output that preserves subtle musical details.

Battery Clock Power Supply
Clock quality has a direct impact on digital audio processing. To protect the oscillator from mains noise and fluctuations, the SL-G700 uses an isolated battery supply for the clock circuit. Coupled with an ultra-low jitter oscillator, this battery-powered approach reduces supply noise and jitter, improving timing accuracy and contributing to a clearer, more precise soundstage.
High speed quiet hybrid power supply
A clean, stable power source is essential for faithful analog reproduction. The SL-G700 includes a dedicated open-loop analog output power supply designed to suppress modulation and provide low-noise, stable voltage under varying loads. This analog supply avoids generic IC regulators and is carefully tuned to maximize signal-to-noise ratio and overall sonic fidelity.

Dynamic Load Characteristic Provides voltage stability even when the load fluctuates.
The USB input stage includes additional regulation and filtering: resistor-based regulators using non-magnetic thin carbon film resistors reduce magnetic interference, while high-grade Ruby Mica capacitors provide low dielectric loss, excellent voltage tolerance and thermal stability. Further noise mitigation measures — such as low-ESR film components on the LAN power path and pulse-transformer isolation on the digital outputs — help preserve signal integrity through the digital interfaces.
High quality headphone output
Rather than sharing the same output path, the headphone output in the SL-G700 has a dedicated transducer circuit. It uses Technics’ proprietary audio LSIs and JENO Engine digital amplifiers to minimize distortion and optimize noise shaping. Keeping the headphone and analog outputs separate prevents cross-interference and allows each output to be tuned for its specific application. An automatic optimization sequence activates the JENO amplifier when headphones are connected, ensuring the headphone path performs at its best without degrading the main analog outputs.
The Class AA headphone amplifier architecture separates voltage and current amplification into two distinct stages: the first stage provides precise voltage control, while the second supplies the necessary current. This arrangement allows accurate conversion of the high-resolution PWM output from the JENO stage into an analog waveform suited to a broad range of headphone impedances, delivering low distortion across a wide frequency range.

A - Voltage control amplifier. Voltage is driven from a dedicated operational amplifier.
B - Power supply amplifier. Required current is supplied from a dedicated operational amplifier.
Optimal circuit activation system
This feature selectively powers digital modules (display, digital and analog interfaces) to minimize interference while music is playing. In "Disc Only" mode the network interface is fully disabled, further reducing potential noise and improving SACD/CD playback purity.High quality components
Only carefully chosen, audiophile-grade components are used in critical signal paths. These select parts and precise tuning contribute to transparent, natural sound reproduction and consistent performance.
Four-node layout
The SL-G700 separates its major circuit groups — power conversion, digital interfaces, high-frequency digital processing and analog circuitry — into four isolated nodes. Baffles and a compartmentalized chassis prevent cross-talk between sections, reduce vibration transfer and improve overall sonic purity and mechanical rigidity.Robust drive mechanism
Accurate disc reading is essential for optimal playback. The CD drive uses a triple-frame construction to maintain precise tracking and to isolate vibrations. A solid die-cast aluminum platter further absorbs disturbance and reduces noise, supporting faithful disc reproduction.Strong insulator
The insulator’s interior is reinforced with ribs and a 4 mm iron plate to add mass and rigidity. This high-density structure is engineered to suppress resonance effectively within the SL-G700 chassis.
Support for different music sources and connection methods
The SL-G700 supports wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi and AirPlay 2, and can stream from services like Spotify, TIDAL and Internet radio. It also offers integrated voice and assistant support, including Google Assistant.*
